Several big name resorts make their home on Dickenson Bay. That means there's plenty to do, including tours and water sports, but you're not likely to be all alone on this beach.
On the North West coast of Antigua, this beach is an ideal stretch of sand located in the eastern outskirts of Dickenson Bay. Although there are certainly more secluded beaches in Antigua than Dickenson Bay, it has just the right mix of intimacy and atmosphere to attract families and couples alike.
Dickenson Bay is surrounded by activity. It's off of Anchorage Road, adjacent to the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort.
On the northwest coast of Antigua lies Dickenson Bay, with sugary white sand beaches and calm waters for sport and swim. Hotels, restaurants, vendor booths and shops abound. Off the coast of Dickenson Bay visitors will find several small uninhabited islands and a one-mile-long coral reef.
There is also a restaurant on-location, which many Dickenson Bay visitors find convenient and satisfying. Each country in the Caribbean has its own culinary style, and Antigua is no different. One truly memorable place to sample the local fare is right next to the coast. Sometimes, hotels offer to pack up on-the-go lunches for their guests. Otherwise, there are plenty of walk-up vendors that offer hot, on-the-go food.
The concession stand at this spot is also an option. Depending on the season and time of day, you may also be able to order some food from one of the mobile vendors who typically set up shop here.
Dickenson Bay does have public restrooms for your convenience. It's also good to know that you will have access to chairs and umbrellas here, so guests seeking some respite from the sun will not be disappointed. The water in the area is fit for snorkeling, so grab some gear if you've been hoping to get in some underwater exploration. Dickenson Bay is a very popular beach, so there's bound to be some crowds. It is also a favorite destination for families with children and there's generally a good mix of both tourists and locals.
Still, it is important keep in mind that even if visitors here find options for conveniences on-site while at Dickenson Bay, it will be located within a commonly visited area. Unless you do not mind crowds, it'll be an appropriate motivator to plan your visit out and beat the crowds, perhaps heading to the beach earlier in the morning. If not, you could risk the amenities becoming unavailable.
This beach is positioned on the North West coast of Antigua. It is near Grand Bay Casino, which is found a quarter mile to the south-southwest, and it is one of the favorite destinations in the area.
If you want more information on the history of Antigua, there are lots of sites which offer a historic look at the nation. One of the nearest historical attractions is Fort James, which is two and a half miles to the south-southwest.
