The weather on Antigua is almost always nice. The temperature remains fairly constant year round, making this the perfect island to visit any time of the year. During the winter time, temperatures on Antigua hover between 74 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit, and during the summer time, the temperatures stay in the mid to upper eighties. The coolest hours are during the evening in night times, when the temperature can drop around two to four degrees. With the steady trade winds blowing from the northeast, this can sometimes feel a little chilly. The warmest hours on the island are midday during the summer time. Most weather reports will anticipate daily rain on the island, but usually its just a cloud passing quickly over the island. Antigua is one of the sunniest and driest islands in the Caribbean. The annual rainfall averages only 45 inches. When it does rain, the showers are usually over in about 10 minutes. The months when there is the most rain are historically October through December. The humidity is also very low year-round. Hurricane season is from June 1 to November 31. There have only been six direct hits on the island for the past 50 years. The most popular times to visit Antigua are during the winter months, after hurricane season. From December 14 until April 14 it the most fashionable yet most expensive time to vacation on Antigua.
